Curriculum vitae

Carmen was born in Dortmund, Germany, and is a Gynaecologist with special interest in gynecologic endocrinology, menopause and hormonal therapy. 

She graduated from the Ruhr-University of Bochum, Germany, in 2010 and gained her doctor degree in 2013 after various scientific activities.

During her specialist training, she has been exposed to a broad range in gynaecology and obstetrics in different hospitals in Germany and obtained the German specialization in gynaecology and obstetrics in 2016. She is trained in gynecological and obstetric diagnosis and scanning, oncological treatments and performing gynaecological operative procedures by vaginal, laparoscopic and abdominal routes. Her priority is always patient's safety and wellbeing, being convinced of evidence-based medicine.  

In March 2016 Carmen moved to Portugal and practices as a consultant gynaecologist in the Algarve. As she recognized how challenging it is to find reliable information and evidence-based advises for menopausal women, she began to specialize in this area. She attended special trainings of the German menopause society and is a member of the German Menopause society, the European menopause and andropause society, the North American menopause society, the German society of gynaecology and obstetrics and the German society of gynaecological oncology.
